I've been taking advantage of this beautiful Saturday morning to introduce the kids to some of the music I grew up on. Of course Isabelle was not thrilled. She asked me "How old is this music?" I said "Some of it is older than me."

Girls' cute sayings
At 4 am I heard little Ellie calling, "Mama, Mooommmy". I went into her room and asked, "what do you need?"
"More candy"
"Candy?"
"Oh water"
This morning Isabelle says to me, "Mom, did you know that most of the world is not earth?" I asked for clarification and she said, "like, there's way more water than earth". I asked "oh, when did you learn that?" Thinking maybe it was discussed in Sunday School.
"Just now, this movie has a spinning world at the beginning and I could see it."

Smell funny?
Elijah went running past me and I caught a whiff of a familiar odor. I said "Elijah? Do you smell funny?"
He stopped midstride, looked at me and breathed heavily through his nose making a sniffing sound.

Defiance in the first degree
This morning Ellie was walking around with a snack cup of cereal. She started dancing and accidentally spilled some. I said "uh oh, we better pick it up"
"No!" Was the response
In tried gently coaxing her but she was adamant.
"No!"
I finally said "you need to pick this up with me our you're going to get a swat."
Her response?
She walked over to the spot where she had spilled and dumped her remaining cereal.

"I'm almost a grown up"
Last night while talking to me Isabelle announced, "Mom, I'm almost a grown up!"
I asked how she figured that. She said "after 7, comes 8, after 8, 9, after 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 , 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and then I'm a grown up!"
