Counting

Isaac was practicing "one, two, free..."

I asked "what comes after three?"

With no hesitation he exclaimed,

"Spank your butt!" 

She's so young!

Isabelle "How old is Grandma?" 

Daryl "oh, shoot, sixty-"

"SIXTY?! But she looks so young!"

Defiance in the first degree

This morning Ellie was walking around with a snack cup of cereal. She started dancing and accidentally spilled some. I said "uh oh, we better pick it up" 

"No!" Was the response

In tried gently coaxing her but she was adamant.

"No!"

I finally said "you need to pick this up with me our you're going to get a swat."

Her response?

She walked over to the spot where she had spilled and dumped her remaining cereal. 

"I'm almost a grown up"

Last night while talking to me Isabelle announced, "Mom, I'm almost a grown up!" 

I asked how she figured that. She said "after 7, comes 8, after 8, 9, after 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 , 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and then I'm a grown up!"
