Baby Jesus

The kids were happily playing with play doh as I fixed dinner. We were discussing things that had gone on in the last couple of days and that it would soon be Christmas. Elizabeth called to me; "Mommy, look! I make Baby Jesus!" 

Since she is not yet 3, I have to admit that I'm quite impressed.

Handprint Bowls

Today Isaac participated in his first homeschool group activity. We made Handprint Bowls. This was the sample:

Peanut Butter strikes again

As I walked into the boys' room to put laundry away I discovered my very quiet Ellie and Eli tucked between 2 beds. Ellie had a peanut butter jar and a butter knife and I observed her lick it, then dip it in, and then give a lick to her brother. When they noticed me Ellie happily said "hi Mom, the peanut butter's all gone, you needa go to the store and get more." 

Chaos

We had a slew of caseworkers visit the house yesterday. As Isaac answered the door for one of them he opened it and waved one arm in a flourish while saying "welcome to chaos!" 

Admittedly I have said this on occasion, but apparently more than I thought! 

Catholic?!

I've been more strict about "shoes off in the house" lately. I just reminded Isabelle to go put her shoes in her shoe box. As she walked away she asked "when did you turn Catholic?"

 Shocked I asked "what?!" 

"Well, Auntie Kari is Catholic and they take their shoes off in the house so you must be Catholic now"

Oh this kid!

The wondering if an 8 year old.

We stepped outside to watch the Labor Day weekend fireworks. As we're watching Isabelle says "I wonder how the clouds react to all that stuff..."

Hmmm! In all my years I've never thought to wonder that!
