A Wonderful Weekend

Hubby took us on an Excursion this weekend to explore some local beauty.

The views were fantastic! We found some places that we may like to camp as the kids get a little older.

None of the pictures do justice to how high we were or how steep the sides were. I'm normally quite calm while riding in mountain terrain, but I shrieked in terror a couple times on this trip.

As Daddy contemplated our proceedings, the kids started drifting off for naps.

Those tracks in the rear view are where our heavy duty 4x4 started sliding sideways on the freshly rained upon clay road! What a spooky feeling to be up so high and sliding! By the Grace of God it was on level ground with bushes and trees lining the sides of the road.

The days are long, but the years are short. I'm glad we abandoned a boring Saturday of housework for an adventure as a family.

And then we ended our weekend as perfectly as possible with a houseful or potty-training kiddos. You see, for a week the kids' bathroom had been out of order. Our only clue was Isaac had been sitting on the toilet and flushing repeatedly and then told me "I flush it all gone". This is what was found...
